Would like to upgrade to the AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor. I believe they are both AM3 spec so should be compatible - no of pins etc.
I would also like to upgrade the 2x2GB DDR2 memory modules with 2X4GB DDR4 modules.
Can you please tell me if the above is possible. Many thanks. Gerry

Unfortunately, I can't even find manuals for that PC on Google since it is so far back in generations.
It would have helped if you had provided the information about the originally installed processor
It must be from around 2002.
All I can say is good luck.
There are no driver, or documentation support present for it on the HP Support servers.
Upgrading to an AMD Black edition processor on a prebuilt mainstream PC motherboard is very unlikely to work.
