I have the HP Envy 700-147 C with the AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.7GHz and 12GB of ram. Im just wondering if upgrading the GPU is possible, also while you are at it would i be able to upgrade the Processer as well? thanks!

Greetings tbenn55,
Welcome to the forum.

Yes you can install a modern GPU because your PC has a UEFI BIOS.
You may need to upgrade the existing 300 watt power supply. This will depend on what graphics card you would like to install in your MB. The other limit you have is the graphics card PCIe x16 slot on your MB is a Gen 2 slot.
The newer graphics card will work but at a slightly reduced level of performance.
You must measure along the x16 PCIe slot to determine the maximum allowable length of the perspective graphics card.
You can upgrade the CPU also. The A10-6800K or the FX-670K would be the maximum upgrades based on your chipset and MB.
Check this site for a comparison of the two possible CPU upgrades you have.
Then use this site to compare each of these CPUs to your current CPU (A10-6700) to see if the upgrade is cost effective and worth the additional performance gain.

@tbenn55, welcome to the forum.
Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer. If you look at the section titled "Processor upgrade information" it has a list of the compatible processors. There are two that will be an upgrade for you, AMD A10 6800K (Richland) Quad Core and AMD FX670K (Richland) Quad Core.
I didn't check the speeds of each of them, however, the "K" series will allow you to overclock it. This could make some difference. I suggest that you do some research before making the decision to buy either one. There is a lot of information on overclocking the AMD processors.
Now, for the video card. You can definitely upgrade the video card. However, you will most likely want to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU), also. Although, some of the newer cards will run with the 300W PSU in your computer. The video slot is PCI Express x16 (Gen2.0). You can buy a Gen. 3 card, but you won't get the full advantage, although it is backward compatible.
