@Leleo76,

Welcome to our HP Users Forum!

All right then, digging up information on your HP TouchSmart IQ504 was challenging.

To answer your question: yes, it appears you can swap out your HHD for an SSD.

Here are two helpful YouTube tutorials I believe are useful: "how to remove and replace the hard drive for the HP TouchSmart IQ500 series desktop PC": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZftlY9NDuU&ab_channel=HPSupport and: "HP TouchSmart IQ505 All in One Hard Drive Replacement": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KekDI45p6oI&ab_channel=TimsComputerRepair.

Besides a new SSD drive, you need a SATA to USB cable, such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073SXTY64/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B073SXTY64&pd_rd_w=tTrKw&con.... You will need this cable temporarily in order to connect your SSD with your PC for the cloning process.

You may also need a "2.5 SSD SATA to 3.5 Hard Drive Adapter Internal Drive Bay Converter Mounting Bracket Caddy Tray", such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZWX6PD/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01LZWX6PD&pd_rd_w=g6vEt&con....

Next, you need cloning software. If your new SSD happens to be made by Samsung, use their "Samsung SSD Magician" cloning software, to be downloaded from here: https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/ ("Samsung Magician Software for Consumer SSD - Magician Software").

Besides Samsung Magician, one of the most user-friendly freeware universal cloning software options available is Macrium Reflect Free, to be downloaded from here: https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree ("Reflect 8 Free Commercial").

If you choose the Macrium cloning option, here is a step-by-step instruction link: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-clone-a-hard-drive.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
