Anyways, I have an HP 31.5 inch all in one system (i7-9700, 16GB RAM, upgraded to a 1TB Nvme SSD), a really beautiful machine that I got to clear up my desk and upgrade my older machine that I built. Here are the specifications for the machine from HP. I think I like it more than my Mac;p

Anywho, my old machine had a GTX1080 in it, while this AIO has an inferior GTX1650 built into it, using HP's DGPU connector and a custom pcb, from the looks of it. However, the system does feature a TB3 port - so, I was wondering if I could throw the GTX1080 into an enclosure and use it with my system.

I've never used GPU enclosures, as I've always built tower desktops, so I'm also a bit confused about the power side of things - specifically what enclosure would provide enough power for the GPU.

HP has their own eGPU offering but it only mentions support for their HP ENVY 34 Curved All-in-One PC's (models 34-b0xx), as well as the 27 inch AIO models - this might be because my model only recently came out, but maybe someone might have some input.

Additionally, when using an eGPU, will the original display of the AIO be able to run off of the 1080? Or is it only capable of being powered by the internal 1650? If the latter, then that sort of defeats the purpose of de-cluttering my desk.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys! :))

@openlog I'm afraid there are no eGPU's designed for this device by HP, you could however, get any 3rd party eGPU at your own discretion, and use with the device, the same would contain HDMI-out, so you have an option to connect it to an external display as well as using the All-in-one desktop, for assistance with setup though, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the eGPU or the local tech store as it would not be supported by HP.
