Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI,

 Can I ue this with my z640 desktop to increase my sata ports?

If so, is there anything I need to know to install it?

@Starlite,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

It should be plug & play, as I assume your motherboard will likely support this SATA extension card.

However, if I may, I would rather recommend the PCIe slot SATA extension option, such as this example:

Link: Amazon.com: MZHOU PCIe SATA Card 6 Ports, with 6 SATA Cables and Low Profile Bracket, 6 Gbps 1X SATA....

Reason being that introducing a separate power supply connected directly into your desktop's motherboard, well, doesn't seem like the best idea ever.  -Just a User's perspective, do with it however you please.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for the opportunity to share my User opinions.

If you don't mind, please share your experience with said PCIe SATA option.
