HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Want to install a 4K-capable graphics card in my EliteDesk 800 G1.  I'm not a gamer -- just want to watch 4K content and have better photo/video/text resolution.  Not keen on replacing the stock power supply.

What slot would I use?

What card(s) would work?

Have you attempted this?

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

You can pick up a used but tested and working AMD RX550 which is 4K capable and should work fine with the stock power supply.

HP AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB Graphics Card L11343-001 Full Height | eBay

If you want to buy new, you can find them for sale on Amazon, but they will cost more than twice as much.

Amazon.com : RX550

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the graphics adapter installation procedure.

The card is installed in the black PCIe x16 slot, not the white PCIe x 4 slot which looks exactly the same.

The motherboard diagram is in chapter 5, page 57.

That is probably the clearest, most complete response I've ever gotten to a tech forum inquiry.   Thanks so much!
