To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

 

  1. Are you using a laptop or desktop?
  2. Are the mouse and keyboard wired (USB) or wireless?
  3. Did this issue start after a Windows update, driver update, or a recent change to the system?
  4. Do both devices fail, or is it just one of them?

In the meantime, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check connections

  • If they’re wired, try plugging them into different USB ports.
  • If they’re wireless, make sure the receiver is plugged in and the batteries are charged.

2. Restart the system

  • Sometimes a simple restart restores device recognition.

3. Test on another computer

  • This helps determine if the devices themselves are working or if it’s the computer.

4. Check Device Manager

  • Press Win + X → Device Manager, look under Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices for any warning symbols.
  • If you see a yellow exclamation mark, you may need to update or reinstall the drivers.
