Hi
I was told that there are two M.2 expansion slots in my desktop HP Desktop - M01-F0022na so I can add a larger SSD.
Someone sent me the manual info.

However, when I opened the case and looked inside with a torch, I couldn't find the second slot.
Can someone help me find it?

You do have two M.2 but one of them is only good for WiFi & Bluetooth
Picture of your Erica2 motherboard is here
An empty m.2 is at top right. You could upgrade your 256gb with a 1 TB by cloning your old SSD to a new one
The bottom left of the motherboard shows a WiFi card in the m.2 position.

Thanks for clarifying.
I bought an internal adapter as well as the larger SSD and plan to clone the SSD with windows to that.
I'm hoping there will be a slot for it! If not, I guess I'll have to buy an exernal adapter.
After I've done the cloning, can I then switch the old SSD for the new one? Will the computer accept the new one as the C: drive?

I updated my windows 11 from 256gb to 1tb using Western Digital Blue SN-570
WD has (last time I looked) licensed Acronis backup to do the cloning and it was a free download.
I bought a USB3 type M.2 adapter so I could use the old 256gb as a fast flash drive.
I cloned the internal 256 to the 1TB, powered off, then swapped the m.2 sticks
I would avoid any of the newer gaming Express "4" M.2's as they might be formatted 4k sector size
With an internal adapter you could move game database to the 256gb internal. I would hold on to your 256 for a few seeks to ensure the new m.2 does not die.

Would you elaborate on your statement "I would avoid any of the newer gaming Express "4" M.2's as they might be formatted 4k sector size" ?

Last year I tried helping a user clone his 256 to an expansive 1 TB gaming quality PCIe 4 express M.2. We never got it to work with Acronis or any other cloning software. Tried everything I could think of. The gaming M.2 was formatted for 4k sectors and I recall 256 (512?) byte sectors are used in windows. The M.2 controller chip needs to be able to emulate 256 or 512 sectors to boot. The user never got his system to boot until he returned the M.2 and got the much cheaper SN-570. Samsung is also good. 970 or 980
I should mentioned that the high performance gaming m.2 may not work and if buying one be sure the seller offers returns.
