Microsoft Windows 11

I'm trying to connect an old HP W1858 LCD Monitor to my Lenovo laptop that runs Windows 11. I can't seem to get the monitor to link with my computer. I have changed the resolution on the host computer to  be compatible with the monitor, I tried downloading drivers but the most advanced is windows 8. All I want is to use it to do dual screen. Is this not possible? Is the monitor too old? It is 14 years old, but it's just a monitor, it should be able to handle being a dual monitor one would think. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi

 this one ?

Normally only graphics drivers are needed
If you upgraded to windows 11, check if the graphics drivers are up to date
I use two different monitors, not very recent, and it works (but desktop computer)
You do not specify what type of connectors your computer has
If you are using an adapter it may not be what you need

check with another computer dvd and vga if it works, if possible
