HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Small Form Factor PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all, I have an EliteDesk 800 G2 with an Intel Core i5-6500 with the latest BIOS update installed. I'm trying to upgrade the CPU to an i7-7700T but thr PC won't boot or post and just power loops with the new CPU in. The new CPU Is indeed functional. Is it possible to upgrade my PC? The PSU is 200W platinum.

@Burner012345678,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Unfortunately, an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF cannot be upgraded with a 7th gen Intel processor.

Take a look at 2,355 HP System EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF Users, and you'll see no 7th gen processors.  The best processor that is compatible with your desktop would be an i7-6700KUserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF Compatible Components.

Hope this was helpful.
