Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was wondering if my system could have a dedicated sound card installed to replace the integrated one?  If so, what type do I need?  Any info would be appreciated; I haven't installed a peripheral device since the Sound Blaster 16 days!

sorry for the late reply, i am working !!
So this model

HP Pavilion 590-p0053w Desktop PC Product Specifications

has this motherboard Lincs motherboard specifications.

with a 1x pci port! There is no graphics card installed, so also the 16x port, even if it may not be simple, I advise to keep it for a graphics card!

I therefore have no model to recommend more than another, but a pci 1x audio card should be suitable

But I know the reputation of sound blaster there is this for example:

(it's just for example, I don't force anything, neither the site nor the map)

Hello
to be able to answer precisely, the exact computer model would be necessary

HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? | HP® Customer Support

if it is part of this series here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-590-p0000-desktop-pc-series/19390500

you have several possibilities of motherboard:

It would therefore seem that there is only one 1x pci port if the 16 is already occupied!

but maybe you have another model
