Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everybody. I just purchased a HP omen GT13-1001no. I also bought an extra HP Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card to be able to use my Universal Audio soundcard and the external ssd etc. So, it was essentila for me to get that Thunderbolt.

No i found out, i can put the PCIe- cared in there, but is it really so, that there is no place for my connector cable. I couldn't find that connector labeled PD129? I think the motherboard is OasisOC.

If i can't use my Thunderbolt in a "gaming" pc (hey, already 2022), then that machine will go back to the shop, thank you.

According to installation manual here

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06162348

The card can only be used in  HP series: Z8, Z6 and Z4 systems as indeed, the cable needs to fit into another slot and the motherboard specification shows none.

HP makes another Thunderbolt 3 as shown in this picture but the system mentioned is Elitedesk G4 and G5 not your Omen

Googling amazon shows a lot of Thunderbolt cards from Asus and others that use only one slot: x4, which your system has.  You could go to the Asus or other communities and see or ask if anyone has used their TBolt-3 in a system like yours or if it is only for Asus motherboards, etc.

If critical function is required I would return the system.

Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. I asked especially this feature, when i bought this computer. My previous one just broke and i needed new asap. The guy at the store said, that with this card i should get the thunder and it's HP's own card. Fool me. I just said, that more than anythin else i need that thunderbolt. I have some Universal Audio stuff full off plugins (worth quite a lot..) and it all in that DAW. Tomorrow is time to make one phone call to that store....

Naturally that manual came with my PCIe-card, but my computer and motherboard are different and cant be solved that way. This board does not have that PD129 and THAT is the problem.

That is unfortunate.

So, as you mentioned, take the computer and the PCI-e card back.

Or, find a compatible PCI-e card.
