PRESARIO CQ56-206 NOTEBOOK PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi everyone! I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ56. It's sentimental to me. I'd like to know if you can install SSD disk. I'm not fussed about losing the information stored. The laptop runs slowly because of the windows 10 installed. I've been promoted to change the HDD to SSD. Question is, can it be done? or even take out the optical drive, as I don't use it.

Please let me know any of you genius out there. Thanks

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I see you need help in upgrading the SSD, on Compaq Presario CQ56-109WM notebook. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you.

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 1 250GB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive installed on the PC.

To get the answer to this question, On the notebook upgrading the SSD is not an option.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

The short answer is, YES!  That being said I would suggest doing a google search for "Compaq Presario CQ56-206, Compatible SSD",  this will bring up several SSD Manufactures suggested SSD's for your laptop.  Below is a link to just one.
