Victus 15L TG02-0020

Hello,

I am very interested in a refurbished Victus 15L TG02-0020 currently for sale. However, its 8GB ram is not enough for the games I like to play. I was hoping to install more RAM(which, though I'm not a PC builder, seems very straightforward), a new 8GB stick to go along with the old one(the motherboard has 2 slots). I have 2 questions,

1. Where do I find exactly what model RAM it uses? I heard you should try and get the same model.

2. Are there any issues an armature like me is likely to run into upgrading it?

Thanks

@jj086789,

Follow up: for easiest access to your RAM, please follow this YouTube video clip from time stamp 1:30 to 2:38: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKyLdGMqezw.

To remove a RAM stick one at a time, gently push down on each of the opposite white RAM slot tabs:

Then 'wiggle' the RAM stick straight up to remove it. To install RAM, carefully orientate the RAM stick so that the tall side and the short side fit/line up into the RAM slot correctly. Gently push straight down on the RAM stick, until both the white tabs 'snap' shut and secure the RAM stick. To see how that is done, please tune in to time stamp 6:39 to 7:18.

Kind Regards,

@jj086789,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop TG02-0020 PC (575J1AA), according to: https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c08218295, and: https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c08107634, and: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-victus-15l-tg02-0020, shows that your desktop will support up to 2 x 32GB of DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, UDIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks if you so choose.

For most applications, 2 x 16GB or even 2 x 8GB will suffice. Preferably, the RAM sticks should be identical -same brand, model and capacity.

No, there are many YouTube instructional/tutorial videos available to show you how to change out RAM sticks.

Easy-peasy.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

This will be really helpful! I will confess I didn't even think to look on youtube for the installation, that will make it much easier! And I will definitely come back to it if I ever decide to upgrade a different part of the PC.
