Hi:

 

According to the HP quickspecs, NVMe SSD's are supported.

 

See page 2.

 

You can see the ones HP offered starting on page 50.

 

HP Z4 G4 Workstation

 

The service manual lists one as a part, chapter 2 page 8, but there is no procedure to remove or replace one.
