Cannot Silent Update BIOS ( Return Code = 0xbc2)

Dear Community,

I have some problems to Update My BIOS with a Silent install. Can Someone help me through ?

Here is the problem as you can see...

it  Return me the Code = 0xbc2, what does it mean ??

Check your BIOS Version upgrade path.  I have some systems that have a really old BIOS version on them, I had to install an intermediate Version that then allowed me to go to the latest.  After that this error went away.

Example:

Currently installed verison 2.06, tried to go to version 3.06 and got the same errors.  I had to jump from 2.06 to 2.99 and then was able to get to 3.06.

Thank you for replying.

I have tried what you proposed, but it doens't work.

My silent install works on all other devices only this one.

I have to find a solution to this problem.

I'm going to try till i found a way to update device through silent install.

If you have found something, please let me know.

Update from last week,

I have update the Bios, and I see that is updated to Version 2.99. I'm glad it happened.

But now I want to update it to 3.06 but I get still the return Code : 0xbc2.

Do you have any solution about how to update it to the latest version (3.06)?

Hii NuclearGeek,

I have found what the problem was.

Normally if you do a silent bios update, your computer will restart itself.

But this was not the case at my computers.

So, after the bios update, I reboot the computer manually and I see that the bios is updated.

That was the problem that I had, but the part of install to an intermediate version to get to the latest version was also the solution!!

For me, 0xbc2 is returned when hpqflash is successful.

The returned code 0xbc2 means succesfull, but you have to reboot your pc manually.

But my other computer rebooted automatically, so I was confused by that.

Now it is updated.
