I have a Toshiba portable ssd, and it has always worked perfectly, until a week or so ago,  when I couldn't add any folders or delete anything from the drive, so I repaired it and it went on working fine. Now however, I can't open it at all and my computer tells me that it needs to be formatted first, I checked online and I think that it might be a drive update, but I'm not sure. Now, I couldn't find the right driver here, what should I do?

Thank you!

It got corrupted and it appears you have already tried the windows repair.

If it cannot be repaired then try one of the forensics apps such as File Scavenger to recovery any uncorrupted files.

The app is free to download and try out but there is a limit on how many files you can recover before you buy the license.

It can recover data from even a formatted drive. Cannot recover from a "wiped" drive.
select * or whatever files you are looking for such as *.docx in the "look for"
Set your USB drive in the "Look in". You may need to do a long search if FAT is corrupted

The following image shows the list of file that File Scavenger can recover
