HP 110-a04
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to update my bios to a newer version, but when I open the HP BIOS AND RECOVERY to download the bios update, the update option is not selectable/greyed out. My only two options are to create recovery usb drive or copy.

My current BIOS version is AMI 80.19, and the bios date is 7/18/14. SMBIOS version is 2.7. The version I want to download is HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B28), A010 REV.A.

Why is the update BIOS option not selectable?

And do I even need to update my bios? I want to replace my intel i3 4130 with either an i5-4690, or i5-4670.

Hello

Go to this HP site for your PC. Click on "BIOS".

You will see the BIOS update and download link you want.

This HP site will give processor upgrade option. Scroll down and click "Processor upgrade information". Select correct TDP processor when buying upgrade or the new processor may not work on HP motherboard.

BIOS update A010 REV.A. does not specify support for different processors so the BIOS update may not be needed.
