I have a MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E) motherboard and I would like to upgrade my USB 3.0 'configuration'(?) to a 3.1 level. Can this be done?
Thanks for your help,
Steven

Your existing computer only has 8 USB2.0 ports, and no USB3.0 ports within the Intel H57 specifications.

Thank you for the info AND the links. The links were/are illuminating.
I've upgraded my CPU to a
Intel Core i7-870 Processor 2.93 GHz 8 MB Cache Socket LGA1156
and have maxed out my RAM to 16 GB.
is there any way that I can upgrade my chipset? (There is no info on my

I just remembered that some other gentleman told me earlier that the chipset is integrated within the motherboard. It's DOES have a big ol' heat sink over it so I can't see if it's a plug+play. I'm not adverse to sucking the solder-carefully- from its mounting unless it screws up the mother board completely or doesn't mesh well with everything else. Any ideas on a replacement motherboard (and replacing the USB ports with 3.1 USB 'plugs'? (Please forgive me as I am a neophyte.)

What is in the PCIEx16 slot (aka graphic slot) ? That could accept a PCIEX4 USB3.1 card.

Sorry about the delayed thanks for your time to answer my question. Can I upgrade/replace my motherboard that will still work with Windows 7 and the fastest USB out there? I DO NOT want to switch to Windows 10 !!! I'll shift to Linux before that. (I still want to use the CPU I described earlier, the tower that cools it and - if I can - still use my DDRM4(?) RAM sticks (the sticks that match the original sockets). I'll even add more RAM if the motherboard will allow it. Thanks.
BTW, I have a HP-337c

Here is the full specs on the HP-337c
1) Changing the motherboard cancels the activation with any WIN OS drive.
2) WIN 7 OS is not supported with any updates now. It ceased 01/14/2020.
