Hi,

I have this HP ProDesk 400 G5 - MINI PC

The power supply is the original one which outputs 19.5V - 3.33A - 64.935W

Device works good with its original power supply.

I looking to power it up with a standard GAN charger.

My GAN device outputs 20V - 5A - 100W:

I bought this USB C to Barrel 7.4m-5m (100W capable) which fits both devices:

However device is not turning on.

My understanding is that the device should draw what it needs from the GAN device and work.

Are my expectations wrong? what am I missing?

Cheers

Hi:

According to the specifications at the link below (page 2) , there were two USB-C ports offered in the configurable I/O port in the rear of the PC:

HP ProDesk 400 G5 DM / AIO - G6 MT / SFF

USB Type-C™ with DisplayPort™ Output

USB Type-C™ with DisplayPort™ Output and powered up to 100W via USB Type-C™ Power Delivery)

The only reason I can think of as to why the USB-C charger you have doesn't work is because your PC has the USB Type-C™ with DisplayPort™ output device.

Enter your PC's product number in the search window at the link below and it may provide the part # and description for the USB-C I/O device that was installed in your PC.
