Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
The Slimline was introduced by HP in 2015.
So you power on the system and you hear a clicking sound.
Any front panel LED activity (power switch LED or HDD activity LED)? Check the PSU LED at the back of the chassis when the system is powered on. Is it a solid green?
Please remove the side panel with the PC off. Then power on. Check for motherboard LEDs, spinning fans. Examine for excessive duct accumulation.
It could be the PSU, or the HDD, or the motherboard, or the power switch.
Do you regularly clean the internals to prevent dust buildup? Dust can wreak havoc on: (chassis- PSU- CPU- GPU) fans, heatsinks, and electrical components. Excess dust can short components causing Power On Self Test problems
It is very hard to troubleshoot hardware problems in a forum. You may have to have a local PC technician take a look.
