Compatibility of a computer with an Intel i7 3770 processor

Hello,

I have an HP Compaq Elite 8300 Small, and I’m wondering if my motherboard, Hewlett-Packard 3397, and my current BIOS (K01 v02.05) support the Intel i7-3770 processor?

Currently, it has an Intel i5-3570.

If the current BIOS version supports it, is there any need to upgrade?

And what are the benefits of upgrading the BIOS?

Hi:

The model series supported the i7-3770 processor with the original BIOS release.

If your PC is running fine, that would be your decision as to whether or not you want to update the BIOS.

What you need to do is to read all of the release notes for the current and previous BIOS releases to see what they fixed or enhanced so you can make an informed decision.
