The computer has an MSI MS-7906 Motherboard with an FM2+ Socket. It is small form factor so requires a low profile cooler but the stock HP P/N 644724-001 cooler has the CPU idling between 50 to 70 degrees C and sets off alarms when loaded. I tried the NH-L9x65 Cooler but the FM2+ mount doesn't work and the mounts that would fit are for Intel motherboards. Has anyone found a replacement cooler which works with this PC and/or motherboard?

@Lucifuge752 I suggest looking into the HP Part Store as it contains the compatible parts for your computer, in fact, I looked it up and here's what I saw:
646679-001 - System Fan, 9225mm, Kidd
644724-001 - Heatsink - 95W, Kidd
Click here to access the same.
That said, HP does not recommend changing or upgrading the parts on your own as it may damage other components on the device, if you are still covered by the HP warranty, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options:
follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on "Continue as guest".
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
I hope that answers your query,
If it did, simply select "Accept as solution", to help the community grow,
And if you wish to thank us for our efforts, click on the thumbs up for kudos.
Have a great day ahead.

That is the original insufficient fan/cooler that is currently installed but not preventing the CPU from repeatedly kicking up errors about going over 80 degrees Celsius with no serious load. It is always idling between 55 to 70 degrees celsius which is way too high for a computer doing nothing. Any mild use has it jumping over 80. I applied new thermal paste and am getting pretty much the same results. The circular bottom does not completely cover the CPU which I am sure has some effect. The case also is tiny with only one small fan other than on the power supply and has no room to install more so I need a better cooler.

@Lucifuge752 HP doesn't provide an option to upgrade to an alternate part as such, I can only give you the part numbers to the parts shipped with the device, if you need alternate parts, you'll need to get it at the local store at your own discretion as HP doesn't support it, simply because the existing/pre-shipped parts are designed to serve at its optimal performance, if that isn't working for you, please contact HP Phone support as suggested previously and they can help you with the options.
Let me know if you need anything else,
And have a good day, ahead.
