Original Hybrid HD has failed.

1) How do I get a CD with Windows?

2) Can the hybrid HD be replaced by an SSD?

     If so, suggestions for a 256 or 500 GB drive?

3) UEFI doesn't seem to let me change it.  I wanted to boot from CD to prove the hardware would boot before buying another HD, but it just seemed to loop and never boot from the CD.  Is there anything unique to this "bios"?  It's a friends system and I haven't worked on an HP in years.

@Helpingout,

WIN 10 is embedded into the BIOS NRAM.   "See download now link".

1) WIN 10 can be downloaded to a 16GB USB device for install to another computer.

2) An unformatted 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD is your best option.  I like Samsung, see this 1TB.

     I do not know how it would react with a smaller drive.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
