I was looking to purchase the Western Digital Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND SSD (WDS100T2B0C) and wanted to confirm it is compatible with my computer.

Hi:
Below is the link to the Crucial memory/SSD report for your model PC.
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-590-p0066
According to the report, only SATA M.2 SSD's are supported, not NVMe.

That doesn't appear to be accurate based on these:
(the above link in particular has a picture of a motherboard identical to mine)
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hP---Compaq/pavilion-590-p0xxx-models#ssd
(don't know why crucial is giving out two sets of information)

Since you found that discussion where someone installed a M.2 NVMe in the exact same PC as yours, with the exact same motherboard, I would have to agree that the Crucial SSD report is incorrect and that MVMe drives are supported.
