HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-0023w

I upgraded the speed of my internet connection (Xfinity) to a 400Mbs connection. I noticed that my download speed is still max ~150Mbs but the upload speed did increase to my new rate. After much digging around, I discovered the RTL8821CE WIFI 5/Bluetooth 4.2 combo (1x1) card only has 1 antenna. It won't get speeds over the ~150Mbs. Is RTL8822CE WIFI 5/Bluetooth 4.2 combo (2x2) compatible with the Erica motherboard in my TG01-0023W computer? I'd prefer to use my WIFI rather than run an Ethernet cord all around my office.

@COEO1st , welcome to the Community.

The socket on your motherboard is "M.2 socket 1, key A".  Your best option would be to contact the adapter manufacturer's Tech Support to assure that the adapter (RTL8822CE WIFI 5/Bluetooth 4.2 combo (2x2)) is compatible with the socket.  I was not able to find this information readily available.

Hi, @COEO1st

The RTL8822CE's Wi-Fi would work but not the Bluetooth.

That is because the RTL8822CE requires two antenna wires to be connected in order for the Bluetooth to work, as does any other dual band AC/AX Wi-Fi adapter except the RTL8821CE.

Have you tried installing the latest Wi-Fi driver for the card?

The maximum throughput with the RTL8821CE is 433 MBPS, so I don't know why you are only getting a maximum link speed of 150 MBPS.  That should only happen if your router is wireless N.
