The PC was working fine just before Christmas. It was turned off but still switched on at the wall. There may have been power surges or outages but if the PC was turned off I am unsure if they would have affected it.
The power cord and power adapter were both tested by a multi meter and are showing the correct voltage of 19v but when the power button is pressed on the workstation, nothing happens. No beeps. Nothing.
There seems to be no other power button that needs to be switched or any visible fuses that need to be reset. I have also checked to see if other power sockets would work but to no avail.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
edit: I notice that when I put the power cord in, I can see a red led flash on and off.

Not much to diagnose on those, the motherboard is probably dead. If you feel good with soldering, you might be able to replace it, just find the blackened component.

Call HP Technician and they will fix it. Hope you are under warranty!!!!
I bought my HP Z2 Mini G3 Workstation few weeks ago and had similar problem. Called HP, technician came and fixed it in two minutes. He said it was tripped off due to power surge and he re-set computer.
