I just grabbed this old dusty thing out of my attic and I cannot connect to the internet. It has a very old version of windows. It says it’s connected but when I hit Internet Explorer it says cannot find server. When I hit google, I’m able to type a website and get the links. When I hit the links, it says can not find server. Help!

@Shavell
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
To verify that Internet Explorer is automatically detecting your proxy settings, follow the steps below:
- Tap Start, and then type Internet options.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Start, and then type Internet options.) - Tap or click the Connections tab, and then tap or click the LAN settings.
- Tap or click Automatically detect settings and verify that there is check mark in the box beside it.
- Tap or click OK to close the windows. Restart Internet Explorer and verify the issue is resolved.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
