I recently bought a Western Digital Blue 4 Terebyte hard drive that requires the bios to support UEFI. How do I update my bios to Support UEFI format?

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your PC?

Use this guide to find that information.

You don't have to change the System to UEFI

Just convert the disk to GPT in the "Diskmanagement"
or run diskpart and execute the command
convert gpt

That's it and then you can use the complete disk.

If the person wants to use the 4 TB disk as a boot drive, the BIOS must support UEFI, and unless we know the exact model number of the PC, there is no way to determine that.

Hi:

Based on the product specs for your PC at the link below, it does not have a UEFI BIOS.

HP Z200 Workstation Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

There are no updates that allow for a legacy BIOS to add support for a UEFI BIOS.

So, you would only be able to use the 4 TB drive for storage by formatting it in GPT.

See this HP whitepaper on the UEFI BIOS, GPT and whatnot.
