I have a hyper 212 Evo from cooler master. I'm wondering if I can just install it on my hp omen 880-p1xx without having to remove the entire motherboard to remove the backplate.

@AndrewHe1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Installing the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on your HP Omen 880-p1xx without removing the motherboard depends on the existing mounting system. The Hyper 212 EVO typically requires a backplate to secure the cooler, and most systems, including pre-built ones like the HP Omen, require you to remove the motherboard to install this backplate. However, if your current cooler uses a compatible backplate, you may be able to reuse it and avoid removing the motherboard. If not, you’ll likely need to remove the motherboard to install the new cooler properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello, I'm using the stock cooler that came with my omen 880 but when I removed the motherboard, the backplate seems to be glued on and I cannot seem to take it off. My temperatures keep reaching 100°C and it is really worrying for me.
