Hi -- We just got a nice HP monitor -- manufactured in 2011 but looks great.  We didn't get the AC adapter for it, though.  So we're looking for one.  One the monitor itself, it lists 12 V,  3 amps as the spec.  On HP's website, it lists 33 watts as the power consumption.  (12 V and 3 amps would make 36 watts, but OK, pretty close).  We have an adapter that's 19 V, 3.42 amps, that has the right pin to connect (about 3/16" diameter).  But that seems way high.  Looking online, I can easily find 12 V 4 amp AC adapters that vendors say would work/are compatible.  But other sources say that you have to be careful of too much amperage.  HP doesn't appear to sell an OEM adapter for this unit any longer.  Should we just trust the Amazon vendors who say their product is compatible?  How do we find an expert opinion on what range of voltage/amperage/wattage AC adapter would be correct/safe/advisable to work with this monitor?  We really like the monitor, by the way.  It's awesome.  Thanks in advance!

You need part #  631914-001 as shown on the following link

            https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=XP598AA

But it is N/A on HP part store now, you can use part # and search on Newegg, Amazon .... or eBay. I saw it on Newegg for $30, HP won't allow me to post the link, please search yourself.

Regards.
