The screen of the model above has been cracked.  Is this repairable?

I have a second monitor and this is working fine so it clearly hasn't damaged anything else except the screen.

As this was only purchased in August last year, replacement will not be an option, and will battle on using the spare monitor if need be.

I have spoken to an independent repair person who said "not repairable" but also confessed that he knew nothing about the product.

Many thanks and in relation to the first sentence  - my son is grounded indefinitely!!!!

You can replace the cracked screen.  There is a video here that might be helpfull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD080UN7rSU

I believe your product ID is 9EH01AA but the screen is  not listed as an available part

https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=9EH01AA&searchby=product

A completer description of the screen is here but "touch" is  not mentioned

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-all-in-one-pc-24-df0000a/32516387/model/34140580/document/c0...

possibly one of the following might work but you need to have the part number from the display to be sure to get the correct one.  Is is also possible to replace a touch with a non-touch to save some money.

My suggestion, worth $.02  is to disassemble, look for an LG, Samsung or HP part number and

1) search ebay using the part number "xxx"

2) google "Aliexpress xxx" since the screen is made in Asia.

if  AliExpress has it significantly cheaper then verify the reviews are good and the review is for the product shown and contact vendor first.

some ideas on what to do with a "headless" system if you do not want to fix the screen

Connect system to big screen TV using spare HDMI-in for use as a movie server or surveillance system

Install splashtop streamer on your broken AIO.  Install splashtop personal on your smartphone or another pc to control the AIO.

use free dvdtools to play movies (mp4)

Install Blue Iris I(not free) and a couple of cheap wi-fi cameras for use as "critter cams"

free for non-commercial use https://www.splashtop.com/personal/downloads

free dvdtools https://www.dvdfab.cn/free.htm?trackid=headmenu2
