Hi
Please Help! Recently my cursor has been jumping to the bottom right hand corner of the screen landing on the date/time part of the task bar. It either brings up the Microsoft Calendar Agenda or it hovers there stuck with either a small shaded circle or square. It is driving me nuts and I can't work in any application ie excel/web/adobe without it repeatedly jumping to the corner.
I am not a tech guru but here is what I have tried.
1. New mouse via USB- happens with this and the HP provided mouse
2. Installed all drivers
3. Ran Diagnostics both system and component tests.
4. Touch screen component test did not work but it did not give an error message so I have just disabled touch screen via control panel.
5. Have tried diabling all the obvious mouse properties but none make any difference.
PC is about 18 months old-out of warranty no doubt !
Thanks

Hi
You have tried just about all you can do to find the cause.
Open Cortana and speak or enter "winver". If you have Windows 10 version 1709 it is possible the update to this version is causing this problem.
Try a roll back to version 1703.
Did the Touchscreen test fail or what was the result? Microsoft may not be providing a good driver if you updated to version 1709. Or the electrostatic display or supporting motherboard chipset components are failing.
It is possible this could be causing this problem.
Checked your PC's HP Support site. There is a BIOS update but the fixes don't refer to this issue. A BIOS update may sometimes fix this.
You can eliminate a software/driver issue by either going back to version 1703 or recovering your PC back to the factory installed version of Windows 10. Or recovering your PC back to an external operating system image if you have made any images using Windows or third party software.
Back up data before doing a factory recovery (or any recovery operation). You will lose everything if you don't do this before doing an HP factory recovery.
A continued problem after a recovery usually suggest a hardware problem.

Hi
I have version 1703. Did a factory reset and spent the day putting it all back together again. It seemed to fix the problem. This morning I turned on the PC and it said "please wait while Windows configures updates" and now it has started to jump around again. It must be one of the automatic updates but I have no idea which and nor how to go back without having to reinstall everything again.

Hi
I think I have found the problem. It seems to be the touch screen.
1. Search for device manager
2. Human Interface devices
3. HIID Touch screen- right click diable
Only issue is that if you restart then you have to do this each time- even after the PC sleeps. I have tried uninstalling it but the same problem is that it keeps coming back into device manager. Is there a way of permanently diabling or uninstalling?
Thanks
