DC7700 SFF 1801-Microcode Update Error upgrading from E6600 to E6700

My system:

HP Compaq dc7700p SFF

SKU ET090AV

Processor: Intel Pentium E6700 @3.2GHz

Processor Speed: 1600/1066 MHZ

Processor Stepping 0001067A 00000000

Memory Sizev4096 MB DDR2/800 MHz/Dual Channel

System BIOS: 786E1 c1.16

After upgrading processor from a E6600 to a E6700, i get a "1801-Microcode Update Error. Missing or Invalid Processor Microcode Update"

The E6700 processor is refered in the manual as a compatible processor.

I've also tried a bios upgrade from v1.16 to v3.07, with the same error.

Please refer to me an apropriate bios update to solve this problem.

Hi:

You installed the wrong E6700 processor which is not supported, even with a microcode update.

The 2.66 GHz E6700 Conroe processor is the one that is supported, not the 3.2 GHz Wolfdale one.
