Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Have a HP Envy.....neither one of my two DVD/CD players are recognized. Running Win 10. Tried resetting the Auto Play settings and also I use  VLC Media player. I understand a fix was to be had in the register settings. Anyone know what they were? I've gone from WIN 7 up to Win 10 on this PC and was a time I did not have this problem.

The only suggestion I can offer if the DVD drives are not being recognized would be to go through Microsoft's troubleshooting steps at the link below:

Start with methods 4, 5 & 6.

Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs - Microsoft Support

Thanks for the pointers, but I think I'll hold back on trying these solutions myself and find a pro to do so.
