I was booting up my HP ENVY PC, and then, no bios showed up on screen at all. but at least the OS booted up, not the boot screen also.
Entering BIOS Setup also doesn't show up also, without it, i don't know where to press. before you comment "just use windows :P" i erased my harddrive as an brand new Ubuntu HDD and used it on my other computer, but at least i have another one. but how do i see where my inputs were supposed to be without the display? and thats the problem. there is no way there is an option to get the bios to show up without any operating system, right??
if anyone has the HP ENVY 700-030 Desktop PC around there somewhere, can you at least show me an image of what it looks like? if not, is there a way to update the BIOS without using an operating system?

Hi @James_Moerls,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Connection: Ensure that the DVI-D cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the computer. Verify that there are no bent pins on the cable.
Monitor Input Settings: Make sure your monitor's input settings are correctly set to use the DVI-D port. This can usually be verified through the on-screen display menu of the monitor.
Try a Different Port: If available, try connecting your PC to the monitor using a different port, such as HDMI or DisplayPort. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the DVI-D connection.
BIOS Settings: Sometimes specific BIOS settings can affect display output. You may need to try a different monitor or connection to access the BIOS and make adjustments.
Video Card: If your computer has a dedicated video card, try using the integrated graphics port (if available) on the motherboard to see if it makes a difference.
Reset the BIOS (Clear CMOS): You can try resetting the BIOS by clearing the CMOS. This involves turning off the PC, unplugging it, and removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes before reinserting it. Refer to your HP ENVY's specific manual for instructions on clearing the CMOS.
Update BIOS/Firmware: If you manage to access the BIOS using a different connection, check if there's an update for your HP ENVY's BIOS which might address display issues.
I hope this helps.
