Envy TE01 - 2250XT
Microsoft Windows 11

In another post (Network issues HP Envy) the issue was raised about replacing the malfunctioning Realtek wifi card with an Intel card (HP part # L35282-005).  After I install the new card do I need to update any software/drivers/etc?

I just bought a TE01-2250xt and the problem that has plagued others with the wifi signal dropping out is happening to me.

Thanks. John

Installed the intel card per your instructions - Win11 recognized it and it worked but I installed the new drivers you suggested anyway. It has worked flawlessly. Why won't HP sell the computer with a problem free wireless card? Thanks again. John

Hi, John:

Before you install the Intel card, go to the device manager and uninstall both the Realtek wifi and Realtek Bluetooth adapters and drivers.

Then shut down the PC, unplug it and install the Intel card.

W10 will automatically install the Intel wifi and bluetooth drivers and then you can update them to the latest versions available directly from the Intel site.

1st two files on the page.

Search - Intel.com

Great!! Since I've got Win11 I only need the first of the two files

WiFi-22.90.0-Driver64-Win10-Win11.exe for 64-bit of Windows® 10 and Windows 11*
WiFi-22.90.0-Driver32-Win10.exe for 32-bit of Windows® 10

Is that correct? John

HP Recommended

That is correct.  You want the 64 bit driver.

W11 will also install the drivers automatically after you first install the card.

What I meant by the second driver was the Bluetooth driver.

Got it! I'll keep you posted - I'm not an IT guy. Thanks. John

You're very welcome, John.

I am assuming you got the wifi card info from this discussion, and I will reiterate what I wrote to the other person...be very careful when removing and replacing the thin and delicate antenna wires.

Glad you found that video

It should help considerably

Your PC will have two antenna wires connected to the WiFi card, and it may not have the clear plastic cover.

Anytime, John.

Glad to have been of assistance.

That is great news.

Enjoy the upgraded wifi.
