There is a discussion here about upgrading the 520-1010 and a faster CPU is mentioned.

The response by the agent has a link that has been deleted. Here is the link using the wayback machine

  • TDP: Varies by processor
  • Socket type: LGA 1155
  • Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:

    up to 35W
Intel Core i3-3xxx (Ivy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 55W
Intel Core i5-3xxxT (Ivy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 35W
Intel Core i5-3xxxT (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core
    up to 45W
Intel Core i5-3xxxS (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core
    up to 65W
Intel Core i3-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 65W
Intel Core i3-2xxxT (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 35W
Intel Core i7-2xxxS (Sandy Bridge) Quad Core
    up to 95W
Intel Core i7-3xxxS (Ivy Bridge) Quad Core
    up to 65W
Intel Pentium G6xx (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 65W
Intel Pentium G6xxT (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 35W
Intel Pentium G8xx (Sandy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 65W
Intel Pentium G20xx (Ivy Bridge) Dual Core
    up to 55W

to get 16gb of memory use a pair of 8gb and you must have an ivy bridge cpu as well as 64bit windows

Since the CPU is socketed, you do not need to replace the motherboard to get better performance.
