HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-1000a (2W847AV)

The computer suddenly does not boot. I have no HDMI signal, the keypad and mouse lights up briefly at start, fans work. Nothing happens. The computer doesn't shut off by holding the start button for a few seconds.

What do I do?

Hi @Jayhop, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-1000a is showing symptoms of a no-boot issue. Since there's no HDMI signal and the system does not respond to holding the power button, follow these troubleshooting steps:

Power Reset (Force Restart)

  1. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cable and turn on the PC.
  4. Check if the display turns on.

Check for POST Beep Codes or LED Indicators

  • If your PC has an internal speaker, listen for beep codes when turning it on.
  • Check if there are any blinking LED patterns on the power button or motherboard.
    • If you see a specific LED blink sequence, note it down and let me know.

Test with a Different Monitor or Cable

  • Try a different HDMI/DisplayPort cable.
  • If possible, connect to another monitor or TV.
  • If your PC has a DisplayPort (DP), use a DP cable instead of HDMI.
  • If you have a dedicated graphics card, try switching the cable to the motherboard’s HDMI/DP port.

Reseat RAM and GPU

If the system powers on but has no display, re-seat the RAM and GPU:

  1. Turn off the PC and unplug the power cable.
  2. Open the side panel and locate the RAM sticks and graphics card.
  3. Remove the RAM sticks, clean the contacts with a dry microfiber cloth, and reinsert them.
  4. Remove and reinsert the graphics card, making sure it's properly seated.
  5. Try booting again.

Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS Settings)

If your PC doesn’t respond, reset the BIOS:

  1. Turn off the PC and unplug the power cable.
  2. Locate the CMOS battery (a small coin-cell battery on the motherboard).
  3. Remove the battery for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Reinsert the battery and turn on the PC.

Power Supply Check

If the PC doesn't turn off by holding the power button:

  • The power supply (PSU) may be malfunctioning.
  • Try disconnecting the GPU and SSD (if possible) to reduce power load and see if the system boots.
  • If you have access to another compatible PSU, test with that.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
