I want to upgrade my 128gb ssd to a hp ssd s700 2.5” 500gb for my desktop but I’m not sure where to put it. Also I’m not sure if I got the correct one to work without replacing my HDD with the ssd

Hello, you have already an m.2 PCIe NVMe SSD so normally yes it is compatible and it is the powerful.

Hello, your actual SSD is an m.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, and the SSD you want to install is a SATA 2.5 inch SSD, for connect with the same connector than your hard drive. 

 

However if you don't want to replace your SSD by an other PCIe NVMe SSD, you can probably install your SSD in SATA 2.5 inch, if you want you can verify if your power supply has been a free SATA Power cable same this:

If you have been this you just need a SATA cable to connect your SSD to your motherboard, same this:

I think that it would be better to replace my ssd with one that has more storage. I was thinking 500gb. I’m using my desktop for Vr gaming. Do you have any Recommendations? I would prefer not to spend more than $200 if I can.

Hello, it is an m.2 SATA SSD. So it is maybe compatible but your original SSD is an m.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, with better performances, same this:
