I installed a Discreet Graphics card into my HP pavilion Desktop, which is running on a Ryzen 2400G CPU with integrated graphics.
After doing this my system sees the new card just fine, but system (BIOS) still recognizes the onboard CPU graphics and is still allocating VRAM to the Ryzen Vega graphics, as opposed to disabling the Ryzen CPU integrated graphics.
Other then the obvious issue of not being able to utilize all installed ram, I am also not able to use the Record and Stream features through Radeons software as it looks to see if VRAM is disabled in order to allow the streaming option in the Radeon Software.
The BIOS has the ability to disable integrated graphics / RAM hidden from the user.
How can I disable these?

Does the BIOS have the option to set the add-in graphics adapter as the "primary" device, relegating the onboard graphics to a "secondary" status? If so, do this, and then use the ability to disable the integrated graphics.
Then, purchase more RAM, if the add-in graphics adapter is "borrowing" whatever you think is "too much" of your RAM.

"Does the BIOS have the option to set the add-in graphics adapter as the "primary" device,"
It does not... nor does the bios have an option to disable anything related to graphics....
"Then, purchase more RAM, if the add-in graphics adapter is "borrowing" whatever you think is "too much" of your RAM."
The issue is that Radeon's software is detecting the use of VRAM and is disabling the ability to record and stream from their software. VRAM should be disabled in a system that an added discreet video card was added, or a bios should allow the user to do this.

Yes, but with your current motherboard and your current add-in graphics adapter, I see no solution for your current situation..
Discreet? Discrete? 🙂

Ye4ah hopping HP has a bios I could flash that gives me full control over the system... or a hidden menu, or something...
The problem being: there is no solution and there should be. without also buying a new CPU

Hello
it is
curious, if you have a graphics card, that shouldn't take care of the built-in ..
which model is it exactly?

I am using the
- Radeon™ RX 500 Series (550x)
it works with the Record and Streaming in another older 8 core Phenom system from Dell.. but not in this HP Ryzen 3 system, due to the Radeon software detecting that VRAM is active...
The latest version of Radeons software requires 2GB of VRAM..
the discreet graphics in the HP system I have uses less than that, but there is no way to change it and or disable it or the graphics processor rom the 2200g, so even using the 550x card in the system, the system sees the 2200g graphics and then allocates VRAM for nothing.. and Radeon says, it is not enough VRAM allocates to a graphic's processor that is not even being used and disable the Record and Stream option.

I did not forget you @ZoneChaos
I searched yesterday, but not found anything concrete
all I have seen is this indeed
requires 2GB of VRAM.
but that doesn't seem to change anything, if we add a graphics card
You must have 2gb of vram, so it wouldn't do any good to disable this, if the onboard chip, doesn't have the vram required
Sorry, I may not have understood everything, but nothing more, your graphics card is obviously compatible!
You have the possibility of using other software, for that not?
If need be, tell me, I can try to continue looking, but I might be wasting our time!
