HP Slimline Desktop
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I'd like to add a SSD and make the HDD a file store. I have an HP Slimline Desktop 450-a10nam. Here's the manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04717103. On page 16 it shows a picture with a 2.5" SSD being slid into a 3.5" HDD bay. Is that possible or do I need to buy an adapter?

Hi:

It doesn't appear that you need an adapter.

Picture 10 on page 16 shows you the 4 holes where you line up the 2.5 SSD to attach it to the drive bay with screws.

All the 2.5"  SSD's I own have 2 screw holes on each side and 4 on the bottom.

That's good news. Many thanks. Mind you, if you're wrong I'll be after you!
