HP Z840
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My old Z800 is unable to boot from M.2 NVMe SSD. I'm thinking about purchasing a used Z820 or Z840 and reuse as many parts from my old Z800 on to this Z820 or Z840 as possible. First of, I like to know if the Z820 and Z840 is able to boot from the M.2 NVMe SSD. My current Z800 has two Xeon X5690 CPU, can I reuse those two CPU onto this board? If so, what high performance heat sink part number do I need for this motherboard to work the X5690? For future upgrade, I'm also curious as to what is the highest Intel Xeon CPU these two models (Z820 and Z840) can take.

Many thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if the HP Z turbo drive interface adapter will accept the Samsung 970 EVO SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe? Or does it has to be an HP brand M.2 SSD?
