This computer had an internet connection with an ethernet cable but with a new house with wifi only it won't connect. Does that mean it has no wifi capability? If so can it be added with an HP or other gadget?

Wi-Fi was an option in the model. according to page 8 of the HP Quickspecs at the link below.
HP Elite 800 G4 Business Desktop Business PCs
Go to the device manager.
Click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.
If the PC has built in Wi-Fi, there will be a model Wi-Fi adapter listed there along with the Intel ethernet adapter.
If you don't see any of the below model Wi-Fi adapters listed there, then your PC did not come with Wi-Fi.
Intel® 9560 802.11AC
Realtek RTL8822BE 802.11ac
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac
Intel® 7265 802.11AC
The easiest thing to do to add Wi-Fi capability to your PC would be to purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter.
I bought this one for my HP 800 G3 DM that had no built in Wi-Fi:
It works great, it's small and even comes with Bluetooth.
