Welcome to our HP Community Forum!
You pose a very interesting question!
Your HP Slimline Desktop - 270-a010 PC (Z5L96AA), according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05409192, is fitted with a Tana motherboard (SSID: 82F9), which clearly shows that it is fitted, presumably, with an "M.2 SSD socket":
However, none of the "HP System Slimline Desktop PC 270-a0xx" Users as seen here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Slimline-Desktop-PC-270-a0xx/62747, has fitted their desktops with an M.2 NVMe SSD. Also, according to Crucial, this motherboard does not have an M.2 NVMe SSD slot either -just a SATA HDD/SSD slot: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-slimline-270-a010.
Thusly, I am not sure what to tell you. To be honest, this PC seems to be too 'dated' ("Supports the Intel Pentium J4205 (Apollo Lake) Quad Core and Intel Celeron J3355 (Apollo Lake) Dual Core processors only") to have been equipped with an M.2 NVMe SSD slot.
Kind Regards,
