Hi @RAV52

Thunderbolt requires a PCIe x4 slot.

You have a PCIe x16 slot and a PCIe x1 slot.

You can do this if the PCIe x16 slot is empty (no discrete graphics card).

Not enough PCIe lanes are available for Thunderbolt with the x1 slot on your MB.

Hi Bill

i do not have any cards installed. I see there’s a cable that goes from the thunderbolt card to another card slot.

not sure about that.

Okay, so without the x4 slot it won’t work correct?

Tnx for your help.

Hi @RAV52

You can use an x4 PCIe card with the correct connector in an empty x16 slot.
