Hi, I am looking to add SSD to my existing computer and was wondering if my Pavilion HPE H8-1234 will support NVMe. I know the is no M.2 slot but I see there is and PCI/M.2 adapter. Thanks

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
You are correct. No M.2 socket on the mainboard.
You can do an PCIe adapter but the storage device will not be a bootable device.
No point in this upgrade if you cannot install the operating system on the drive.

Hi,
Should have added this:
You can do a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. This upgrade will provide great performance improvements.
There is not much user perceptible performance improvements when comparing a SATA SSD to a M.2 SSD unless you are doing disk intensive tasks.

Hi Grzwacz,
Thanks for the replies and info...I was hoping to add SSD to the PCI slot (via an adapter) so I could free up an additional HD bay. But what I don't know for sure if my PC will recognize it as my new boot drive. -thx
