I have an HP Z420 and I'm using it as a TrueNas server. I'm thinking of installing an ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 PCIe 3.0 X4 Expansion Card V2 to have 4 NVME SSDs in my system and use it as storage for my VMs. What I want to know is, does this motherboard support 4x4x4x4 Bifurcation on its second PCIe x16 port? That's a requirement for the PCIe card to work.
If not, could you suggest some alternatives for me to achieve my goal?

Hi DlionK,
Bifurcation is only supported on the HP Zx40 series workstations, (and newer systems) - not on the HP Zx20 series.
You can install a single NVMe drive in the X16 PCIe 3.0 gen slot, a second drive in the X8 PCIe 3.0 gen slot, and a third in the X8 PCIe 2.0 gen slot.
