Has anyone purchased an Omen 40L this year, 2023? Maybe you’re familiar what motherboard is used (sales tells me it’s a Kingston Fury motherboard).
I want to be sure it has at least one PCIe slot available (and free space) in addition to when the RTX 3060 is installed.
Also, how many (free) onboard USB connectors exist?
I can’t find any images of HP motherboards on their website, and it’s almost as difficult to get any data on them also.
EDIT; In poking around the Internet, in particular at the PCPartPicker site, I suspect the motherboard is actually the ASRock Z790 PG LIGHTNING ATX LGA1700. If so, that would have at least 4 USB headers, and at least two available. Perhaps someone could confirm this (and maybe if customers could post their motherboard photos this could help prospective buyers enormously! Thanks.

Kingston Fury is the name of some of Kingston Memory's memory modules, not an HP desktop PC.
The Omen 40L GT21-1455se does have Kingston FURY XMP RGB memory modules installed in 16/32 0r 64 GB capacity, depending on the pre-purchase configuration selected.
I have been unable to find out which motherboard it has. It may be too soon in the marketing and sales phases to see that just yet.
Here are some specs on the Omen 40L GT21-1455se
Expansion Slots | 1 PCIe x16; 1 PCIe x4; 3 M.2 (2 PCIe x4 for SSD, 1 for WLAN) |
External I/O Ports | 2 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate (Battery Charging 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB 2.0 Type-A; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 microphone |
External I/O Ports 02 | 1 USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate; 1 USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate; 2 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate; 2 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 2 USB 2.0 Type-A; 1 audio-in; 1 audio-out; 1 microphone; 1 RJ-45 |
It does have the Intel Z790 chipset

Yes, that helps, thanks. But I see the motherboard information I was given from HP customer service wasn’t fully accurate (or complete). It’s been one of the most frustrating things, trying to determine which motherboard is employed in a build. Equally, you’re stymied in trying to get visual information since an Internet search often fails to find pictures of specific motherboards.
Having now ordered the Omen 40L GT21-1455se, I now see the specifics do detail that it’ll be the ArcticOC motherboard, which I’m sure has at least a second PCIe slot (as you explained, likewise yes, a Z790 chipset), and I’m pretty sure it has fully 4 on-board USB connectors, which is excellent and what I was asking for. And it seems this would help with definitively answering this question.
One huge plus for me regarding HP, is they’re largely using standard components. This is the major reason why I turned to HP, rather than a certain other major PC builder (whose motherboards and power supplies are proprietary).
