I want to add another 8GB to a PC i just purchased. I don't know if it can only use 280 pin RAM. If so, I can't really afford the upgrade! 260 pin RAN is 4 to 5 times cheaper.

@marvin1933 -- from the HP Warehouse: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=9EE50AA&searchby=product
I see: -N/A-
934254-800
Memory -
GNRC RAM UDIMM 8G DDR4 1.2V 2666
Unfortunately, that "N/A" means that you cannot purchase this RAM from HP.
If you open the Windows "Task Manager", and switch to the "Performance" tab,
how much of the original 8GB of RAM is being used, while you have several apps open (Edge, Adobe Reader, iTunes, Outlook) ? If you are using significantly less than 4 GB, then why purchase 8 GB more that won't be needed?
Also, is this your motherboard: HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, BakerMS | HP® Customer Support
That web-page states:
Memory upgrade information
Dual channel memory architecture (One DIMM per channel)
Two DDR4 SODIMM (288-pin) sockets
Supports PC4-21300 (DDR4-2666) and up to PC4-23400 (DDR4-2933) for Core i7-10700 and i7-10700F
Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 SODIMMs
Supports up to 32 GB (unbuffered) with two 16 GB DIMMs on 64-bit systems
So, you definitely need 288-pin RAM, in the SODIMM format.
